LUXBOARD W
The Hybrid
Luxboard W is a hybrid sandwich panel based on aluminum honeycomb and wooden top layers.
Luxboard W combines the high flexural strength and relatively low weight of an aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel with the good processing properties and the property profile of a wide variety of wood types.
Luxboard W can be supplied with a wide variety of wood layers as a top layer in the desired thicknesses. Examples of this are types of wood such as plywood and high-density fiberboard such as HDF (High Density Fiberboard) or MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).
Benefits
- The combination of very good bending stiffness and weight savings reduces the wood panel warping problem and reduces the risk and costs for reworking and rejects.
- Very good machinability due to wooden cover layers increases the processing speed.
- Easy performing edge closures and the ability to use standard screw connections for assembly processes reduces labor time and therefore costs in production processes.

Notes
- When stored, panels should be stacked flat on a wooden or metal plate and covered on top as well with a flat wooden or metal plate
- It is recommended to store the panels flat, as described, for at least 24 hours before further processing under the same humidity climate as used in the production area
- Due to the cutting tolerances for honeycomb panels and wooden panels and due to moisture absorption, there can be deviations in the final thickness of the panel. Thickness tolerances can be adjusted on request and by arrangement to lower tolerance values
- As plywood types, poplar, birch and okoume plywood as well as flame-retardant plywood types can be processed as top layers, in different thicknesses. Moisture-resistant and/or flame-retardant HDF or MDF wood fiber boards are also possible as cover layers in the desired thicknesses.
- On request, panels can be tailored to the required thickness and panel size.
